Popular rapper 50 Cent received over 7 million dollars by selling his fifth studio album for bitcoin. The artist has remembered about his bitcoin funds only now.
According to the entertainment website TMZ, Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, earned about 700 BTC after selling his “Animal Ambition” album for the cryptocurrency. In 2014 his bitcoin funds were worth about 400,000 dollars. However, the cryptocurrency has grown significantly in price since then. Therefore today 50 Cent’s bitcoin stash is worth 7 to 8 million dollars!
50 Cent confirmed the news by now-deleted comment on Instagram. The artist stated that he had forgotten about his bitcoin earnings. 50 Cent also shared his joy in Twitter. “A little bitcoin anyone? LOL. l know l make you sick but excuse me...I’m getting to the bag,” he wrote.
50 Cent is not the only artist who has accepted bitcoin as payment for an album. Last year world-famous singer Bjork let fans buy her ninth album “Utopia” with bitcoin and some other cryptocurrencies.
