One of the largest video game publishers Ubisoft stated about its intention to explore blockchain's potential for video games. Researchers from Ubisoft's Strategic Innovation Lab are primarily interested in the blockchain's ability to protect the ownership of digital products. “Thanks to the blockchain, we can now have the equivalent of a digital Picasso, with the advantage that it’s a lot more difficult to steal something on the blockchain than to steak a Picasso," Lidwine Sauer, the Lab's director of trends and insights, said. Ubisoft is well-known over the world for such video game franchises as Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Just Dance, and many others. Ubisoft is not the only company that uses blockchain technology in game business. For example, distribution platform Robot Cache has been recently established to allow people to buy or sell video games for cryptocurrency.
