The cryptocurrency exchange Bitcoin.com.au has given the Australians the opportunity to buy Bitcoin and Ether in newsagents. Both currencies are currently sold for fiat cash in more than 1200 newsagents across the country.
General manager of Bitcoin.com.au Rupert Hackett believes that this service will increase trust in cryptocurrency. “The fact that you can now buy Bitcoin and Ethereum from the same place you purchase soft drinks and stationery really speaks to how institutionalised cryptocurrency has become," he said.
To acquire cryptocurrency in the newsagents, a customer need to create a digital wallet account and make a purchase for at least AU$ 50. The transaction requires less than 20 minutes.
